Example: hoejriis.dk

For anyone evaluating Kartotek. The general concepts in Welcome to Kartotek, grounded in a real, running example. hoejriis.dk, a personal profile and blog site for Martin Højriis, is one implementation of Kartotek — this doc describes that implementation concretely, as a case study, not as a specification for how every Kartotek site should be organized.

Category tree

Three top-level Categories, all shown in the top navigation:

• Professional (/professional) — leftmost tab.
• Personal (/personal) — middle tab.
• Main (/main), labeled "Blog" in the navigation — rightmost tab, and the site's default landing section.

Professional and Personal each have their own presentation post — a Category Presentation Post Type post holding a name, avatar, bio, and contact details (see Organizing and presenting content) — so visiting either shows a proper header above the posts published to it.

What gets published where

Professional and Personal hold posts relevant to each side of Martin's life respectively; Main/Blog is the catch-all for everything else. Posts are almost entirely Article — markdown text bodies, often with a cover image and inline {{footnote:n}} references — plus a handful of Image and Gallery posts for photo- and video-heavy entries, and an occasional Link post pointing out to something Martin wants to share without writing a full Article about it. Two real (if fictionally-themed) posts on this site demonstrate a wide range of what Kartotek can hold in a single Article, and how a Gallery works:

• inside-the-stargate-program — an Article exercising nearly every Content Type at once: images, text blocks, links, contacts, a video, an audio clip, a timeline, and an embedded map.
• stargate-gallery — a Gallery mixing images and video under the same gallery Role.

Addresses and admin

Every Post's UID doubles as its address at the domain root (hoejriis.dk/<uid>) — see Domains, UIDs and addresses. The admin area, reached at /_admin, is protected by an emailed one-time login link rather than a password — see Administrator quick start.

What this demonstrates

A small, single-owner site with a shallow Category tree (one level of nesting), a mix of four Post Types, and no multi-Domain configuration — deliberately close to the simplest real setup Kartotek supports, rather than exercising every advanced feature (multiple Domains, a Category sidebar, external publishing tokens) at once.
