Type: Link

Changes to how this Type behaves are requested through a GitHub Issue and implemented, together with this reference page, through the repository's normal workflow. See /_docs/posts for how Post Types and Content Types work in general, and docs/Internal/type-doc-templates.md for the Post Type Doc template this file follows.

A pointer to something elsewhere (a LinkedIn post, an Instagram post, any external URL).

Rendering contracts

Summary (in a list of posts)

Title, an external-link indicator, the primary link's note if present.

Full (its own page)

No rich display — visiting a Link post's own address shows a minimal "this is a link post" notice with the title as a clickable link to the primary URL, rather than the post's own content laid out on the page. Clicking it from a Summary card (in a listing) skips that notice and navigates straight to the primary link's external URL.

Page regions (Full rendering)

Not applicable — Link has no laid-out Full page to divide into regions; its Full page is a single minimal notice.

Public metadata exposure

Title, the primary link's URL and note, Stage, published/updated timestamps, Tags (as JSON-LD keywords) — via the Metadata page and JSON-LD export, same as every Type.

Admin editor

Every Content Element section is available here, same as every Type — but only the Links section's primary role does anything for a Link post: it's the URL this post points to.
