Extension of Skejby Hospital
iSkejby Hospital is set to undergo a major expansion.
The intention is to transfer all hospital functions in the Aarhus area to Skejby, so that all specialities are represented there, thereby allowing the two old hospitals in central Aarhus to be decommissioned.
In December 2007, the Central Denmark Region selected a consortium led by C.F. Møller to undertake the major consultancy project.
The expansion will take place over the next 15 years and cost several billion. This money is expected to be recouped through the sale of the city-centre hospitals and efficiency improvements.
