Promenade path along the East Pier
iWhen the master plan and the subsequent local plans for the harbour expansion were adopted, a promenade path was planned along the new East Pier.
The path is intended to enable the town’s residents to stroll from Marselisborg Marina all the way to the tip of the new harbour arm. At the end of the path, a viewing platform is planned, allowing visitors to rise above the harbour, the city and the bay.
In the long term, the path will be linked to the recreational route that will stretch all the way from Tangkrogen in the south to Den Permanente in the north. Construction is pending the final completion of the newly reclaimed area east of the road. It has not yet been decided how the new ferry terminal will be connected to the existing pier, but the path will in any case be crossed by a road at this point.
