7. The Rainbow Bridge
Inside the Sun, Bifröst offers control of every surviving road—and gives Voss, Signe and Vidar one chance each to seize it.
Liv’s map and Hel’s warning locate Bifröst inside the solar corona. Malik devises an alignment that uses Solvognen’s Golden Face to ride a stable magnetic interval. The opening is possible for less than nine minutes. Voss orders the mission despite Freja’s refusal to endorse it.
iCentral routing
Bifröst is a stellar installation rather than a bridge: dark structures suspended in luminous plasma, with branching paths rendered as colour because human vision cannot interpret their actual state. When the team enters, the router recognises Midgard’s unclassified operators and exposes administrative choices hidden from inherited users.
Voss attempts to issue a command through the Stevns link. Signe has altered the translated syntax so that the command creates a local diagnostic session instead of transferring ownership. She reveals the deception to Elias, choosing the team over her intelligence orders.
iVidar
The diagnostic wakes Vidar, an Æsir emissary held in transit since fragmentation. He claims the Vanir destroyed civilisation to avoid losing a war and demands the return of both Solvognen and Liv. Bifröst recognises his inherited authority but also recognises Midgard’s unrestricted access. Neither takes precedence.
Vidar offers Voss a compact: central control in exchange for restoring Æsir routes. Freja shows Voss the evidence from Hel that central discovery will also expose every hidden realm. Voss hesitates long enough for Signe to close the administrative session.

Liv’s skin fills with paths extending far beyond the nine remembered realms. Beneath them, a dark movement begins.
