Skejby Teaching Campus
iOn a large site adjacent to Skejby Hospital, Via University College is planning to construct a major building to house a total of seven study programmes, all of which are health-related.
Via University College is a merger of a number of educational institutions in the Central Denmark Region, including the former JCVU.
The first phase will cover 25,000 square metres, and the total construction cost, including the building plot, amounts to 460 million kroner.
Once the building is completed – expected to be ready for occupation in 2011 – it will be possible to bring all the programmes together at a single location, compared with the 14 locations currently in use.
The following institutions are involved:
- Nursing programme
- Occupational therapy programme
- Physiotherapy programme
- School of Bioanalytics
- Nutrition and Health programme
- Educationand Development Department
- Centre for Teaching Resources and Shared Administrative Functions
Via University College has acquired a total of 98,000 square metres of land in the area, and with the recently adopted municipal plan amendment, provision is made for up to 49,000 square metres of floor space across up to five storeys.
It is therefore possible to double the floor area at a later date should the development so require.
