New neighbourhood in Lisbjerg

Lisbjerg is situated north of Aarhus. The area has been earmarked to accommodate a new, large urban community close to Aarhus.

Unlike typical urban development, which generally takes place in successive phases, a master plan has been drawn up for the entire Lisbjerg area, with plans to complete the town within a relatively short timeframe of 20–30 years.

The town will have its own school, and the brief for the competition to design the school also required the designers to submit proposals for the town’s overall urban plan. In addition to teaching, the school is to be used as a parish hall and for various communal facilities.
The town is situated close to the motorway network, and the planned light rail line is set to run through the entire town.
