The area around Søren Frichs Vej is a former industrial estate that is gradually being transformed into an urban development comprising a mix of residential properties and light industrial businesses.
The first major step came following the closure of Frichs Fabrikker, when the many factory buildings were converted into offices under the name Frichsparken. Work has now begun on the section between Søren Frichs vej and Silkeborgvej, specifically the plots around the small Finderupvej.
A number of plots have been cleared or are in the process of being cleared, and the intention is to build housing in their place, possibly with a few offices and small shops.

On the plot at Finderupvej 1–7, up to 8,200 square metres of floor space may be built (provided that an underground car park is constructed) for residential use and shops serving the local community.
On the site at Finderupvej 2, 9,700 square metres of floor area may be built, again provided that parking is provided in an underground car park. The development may be used for housing and light commercial purposes.
The plot at Finderupvej 4–10 was not included in the original planning but is now under consultation. The proposal is for a development structure and density similar to the other two plots, and here too the use may be for housing and light commercial activities.
In total, this amounts to around 25,000 square metres of floor area, corresponding to, for example, 300 homes (depending on the balance between residential and commercial use).

The development around Finderupvej continues the major transformation of the area, and together with the newly constructed buildings on the Frisko site opposite, the area around Vestre Ringgade is undergoing a significant change in character in recent years. A number of low-rise, industrial-style buildings still remain at the junction of Søren Frichs Vej and Ringgaden. Some of these are already scheduled for redevelopment, whilst the others will likely be the subject of projects in the coming years.
