TV 2 | EAST JUTLAND - The Ærø ferries are ready to take over the Samsø service
This farce is a classic consequence of the Danish model, whereby the islands themselves are responsible for the infrastructure connecting them to the outside world – a situation which, of course, differs from all other Danish towns, where the roads between towns are managed by a state body. In Sweden, waterways are a state responsibility, resulting in a higher level of professionalism and economies of scale. Services to Samsø should form part of a floating Kattegat bridge between Kalundborg and Aarhus.
