Bus lanes on Randersvej

The first step towards light rail on Nørrebrogade and Randersvej is giving priority to buses.
As part of the project, the necessary space will be made available, initially for bus lanes and later for light rail tracks.

In order to widen the road, it will be necessary to demolish the row of terraced houses on the eastern side of Randersvej, between Stjernepladsen and Netto.
The remaining land from the many plots is expected to be consolidated and sold for new, taller developments.
These developments will have a height and architectural style that will bring greater harmony to the road’s layout.

The most significant traffic changes will occur at Stjernepladsen and on Kastaniegade, which forms the access road to Netto, Aldi, Blockbuster, McDonald’s and others.
At Kastaniegade, it is unfortunately necessary to fell the old beech tree, and a roundabout of sorts will be constructed to direct traffic to the car parks.

The local plan is expected to be adopted in early 2008
